STARBUCKS LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE 2019

CLIENT: TOUCH

Kite & Nail provided environmental design direction and design for the “Experience Hall” at McCormick Place in Chicago. We assembled and led a team of 3d designers who developed concepts with Starbucks and Touch, and then executed designs for the built environment. We worked with the Touch graphic design team to distribute and convey Starbucks’ content across varying physical media in this 300,000 square foot educational exhibit creating a leadership journey through a variety of coffee agriculture, craft, retail and innovation topics.

Kite & Nail also designed the stage for the keynote at the United Center.


TARGET
FALL NATIONAL MEETING

2016

Kite & Nail provided design for the central and entrance experiential elements, and consulted on design and production for the rest of the exhibit. In this we worked closely with Touch’s creative team and Target’s FNM team.

We designed the configuration of kinetic LED globes and directed cueing for their animation. We designed the form factor for the hundreds of awards distributed, and their display structures, as well as a presentation stage and its surrounding exhibit elements.

Kite & Nail provided design for a key shareable photo opportunity at the exhibit’s entrance, and a central environment for awards and recognition of Target store managers.

We designed the concept for the hundreds of awards, that when placed together, acted as “pixels” in a larger gestalt of target bulls-eyes. Kite & Nail also provided consulting services for the Touch designers who created the surrounding exhibit elements.

Kite & Nail worked closely with AirBnB’s architecture staff to provide Environmental design for a multi-function event space at Fort Mason in San Francisco for the inaugural installment of this event which provides networking and resource opportunities for AirBnB hosts.

Kite & Nail provided environmental design and design direction for the Leader’s Lab which used 500,000 sq ft of space at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

We worked closely with Touch and Starbucks to concept he various experiences and form factors. We planned for space use and technical requirements, and assembled a team of 3d designers to execute designs for fabrication of the experiences.

Kite & Nail provided exhibit design and led the 2D and 3D design teams in executing an exhibition design for the first permanent exhibit about modern slavery. With Touch’s Principal and the NURFC curatorial and educational staff, we conceptualized methods of telling very difficult stories that culminate in a call to action.

2008

Kite & Nail provided experiential design for this 500,000 sq ft event in New Orleans at Ernst N. Morial Convention Center. With Touch and Starbucks, we created concepts for the experiences. We then developed designs for four galleries brimming with experiences and content covering Customers, Coffee, Partners, and Stores for the Starbucks store managers to move onward along their continuing leadership path.
